We encourage students to actively participate in sports as it builds teamwork, discipline, and overall well-being. Sports offerings include athletics such as 100m and 200m running, javelin throw, shot put, discus throw, along with football, throwball, volleyball, and cricket. Indoor games like chess and carrom are also encouraged, along with traditional Indian sports such as Kabaddi and Kho-Kho.
Each class typically has between 25 to 35 students. We ensure that no class exceeds 35 students to maintain effective learning and individual attention.
We offer both classical and Western vocal training. Students also learn to play instruments such as tabla and harmonium, helping them explore rhythm, melody, and musical expression.
Teachers for Grades 1 to 5 hold HSC/Graduation along with D.Ed., while teachers for Grades 6 to 12 are Graduates or Postgraduates with B.Ed., meeting CBSE norms. In addition, all teachers undergo specialised training from our Mumbai academic team to align with Vishwajyot’s teaching methodology.
We maintain a teacher-student ratio of approximately 1:20, ensuring personalised attention and effective classroom engagement.
Our Chairman, Mr. Vishwas Dhumal, is a former IAS officer. The school is guided by the vision of our Director, Mrs. Sushma Dhumal, a former educator at St. Xavier’s High School. Her mission is to make quality education accessible to children in Phaltan.
We organise a variety of cultural and social awareness activities every year. These include field trips to places like the police station and post office, cleanliness drives, and festive celebrations such as Diya decoration, lantern-making, and Ganesha clay modelling activities involving students and parents.
Our Preschool curriculum is a personalised foundational program designed for children aged 2 to 6 years, focusing on holistic skill development and early learning readiness.
We focus on concept understanding before writing. Children first build foundational skills such as holding crayons, brushes, pencils, and pens, followed by scribbling and pattern writing. This structured progression helps develop strong writing skills, enabling children to confidently express themselves in higher grades.
At Preschool level, we do not follow traditional homework. Instead, we use a dedicated learning app where parents can view detailed teaching-learning plans and replicate simple learning activities at home to support their child’s development.
Keeping in mind the overall development of children, Vishwajyot Preschool’s Teaching-Learning methodology has included co-curricular activities in the plan. For example, as part of Linguistic skill development, we have activities like Storytelling and English conversation. Other activities include dance songs, painting, drawing etc. Then, there are cultural and social awareness activities like festivals’ celebrations, seasonal activities, gatherings, Field days etc.
We have a play area at Vishwajyot Preschool on which we have set green mats on. Play equipment like Sea-Saw, Sliding, Trampoline, and Basketball stand are kept here. Kids from specific grades can visit this space to play during the physical activities session scheduled on their timetable.
